Leaving on a Jet Plane

Leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when I’ll be back again!!! I have been all smiles today and singing this song nonstop. My adventure (well the exciting stuff) begins in one hour when I head to the airport… San Francisco > Hong Kong > Denpasar, Bali.

My plan is no plan. All I want to do the first week is become acclimated with the heat, bask in all the beauty that is Bali and go to yoga daily.

I will be checking in sporadically my lovelies, but please continue to follow my journey. Until the next time, namaste and much love!  xoxox…Emily

May’s Mantra: Have Fun!

For the last couple of months I have had a monthly mantra. For March, Life is not a to list. For April, Let it go! And May’s mantra is Have Fun! This seems perfectly fitting for all of the exciting adventures I have planned. Friday is my last day of work, then I’m off to Costa Rica, then Vancouver, then Bay to Breakers in San Francisco and then I head to Bali in June. Lots of exciting things coming up and May will definitely be a month of fun activities!

Quit your job, buy a ticket… check & check…

Costa Rica… we will meet again in 72 hours!

Then Vancouver with my Mum…

Bay to Breakers in San Francisco…

And I’m sure I will have many days hanging out with friends, picnicking, basking in the sun and drinking wine…

The 20th Century in Color

Another must have for my library… Pantone: The 20th Century in Color by Leatrice Eiseman & Keith Recker. Today I listened Keith Recker give a presentation at the Cowtan & Tout Showroom in San Francisco about his book. I went straight back to the office and added it to my Amazon wish list. Can’t wait to order it!

Once I order the book I will give a review so check back with me. xoxoxo.

Little Backless Dress

Winter has been a little late arriving in San Francisco and I thought the season was going to skip us completely. I can’t even recall the last time it rained. A few weekends ago I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon basking in the sun at Delores Park. The day got me amped for spring and I started shopping for my spring wardrobe which mainly consisted of backless dresses. I just love them. So sexy. But with rain on the horizon and winters late arrival the dresses will just have to wait, but in the meantime a girl can dream…

Yogi Love = YogaGlo

The universe never fails and always provides. I have wanted to start a home yoga practice for ages. I lay out my mat, light some candles and begin my practice. I make it through one maybe two Vinyasa’s before getting distracted and hoping off my mat. This was before YogaGlo. YogaGlo has and will change my yoga practice. The website streams yoga classes for only$18 a month. $18 is the going rate for one yoga class in San Francisco. Not only is YogaGlo affordable, but you can choose the teacher, the type of class, the amount of time you’d like to practice and the level. The site even has meditation classes. I’m in yogi love.

Happy Monday Lovelies! Yesterday I attended the Thread Show. “Thread is a showcase of emerging fashion designers and the music and art that rock their world.” It was a perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday in San Francisco. The artist showcased will keep me inspired for some time. I was particularly drawn to the jewelry and purchased some awesome pieces.

The artists who created of my fabulous jewelry purchases…

Ode to Autumn

As Thanksgiving approaches, autumn is in full effect in San Francisco and within me.  As the days grow shorter and the nights longer, it is a time to balance the light and dark within us. Fall is a time to go inward. A time to self reflect. A time to hibernate. As the trees shed their leaves, it is a time for us to let go and release things that have been a burden.

Fall in the past has been the most difficult season for me. I fought me for too long and fought going inward. This year, things have changed. Things have shifted within. I find myself turning off my phone. Craving “me” time. Going inward. And what better place to that than in the comfort of my home, my sanctuary…

Graffiti… art or a crime?

Cultures have used graffiti as a way to express themselves for ages.  The word graffiti simply means–words or drawings scratched or scribbled on a wall and the word comes from the Greek term “graphein” (to write). Is graffiti –  art or a crime? You decide…

“Graffiti is revolutionary, in my opinion”, he says, “and any revolution might be considered a crime. People who are oppressed or suppressed need an outlet, so they write on walls—it’s free.” Terrance Lindall
